Why a plant wilts
Have you ever seen fire fighters using a fire hose? The hose looks stiff
and fat while water is running through it. But when the fire is over and
the fire fighters turn off the water, the empty hose is limp.
A plant is somewhat like a fire hose. As long as a plant’s roots keep
pumping water into it, the plant’s stems and leaves stand up straight
and stiff. But if the plant doesn’t get enough water to stay filled, it
will soon flop over, just like an empty fire hose.
