The tree-path game
Come take a walk through this spooky forest. But be careful! If you
choose a wrong path you’ll be captured by giant spiders or eaten by
crocodiles!
You can play this game by yourself. It begins here and ends on page 186.
On all the game pages you’ll find pictures of the forest, with many
paths. You must take the right paths to get “home.”
Each picture has a signboard that tells you what paths to take. Each
path is marked by a picture of a leaf, or bark, or some other part of a
tree. So, if the signboard says to take the “oak path,” you must look
for the path that has something from an oak tree next to it.
If you don’t know much about trees, look at the tree identification
chart below the picture. If you need to find an oak path, look for the
oak tree on the chart. Under the oak tree are pictures of an oak tree’s
leaf, nut, flower, and bark. Look for the path that has a picture of one
of these things next to it. It’s the oak path.
If you take a wrong path, you’ll know it when you turn the page. All
wrong paths lead into danger. When you find you have taken a wrong path,
turn back and try to find the right one.
