Life in the woodlands
In fall, the leaves change color. Most birds fly south for winter.
Snakes, turtles, frogs, many insects, and some of the furry animals
hibernate. But, if the winter is mild, birds, rabbits, and other animals
stay active.
In the woodland community there are four seasons.
In spring, little wild flowers are the first to bloom. Then trees and
bushes bud. Birds appear and build nests. From spring until the end of
summer, the woodland is filled with birds, squirrels, rabbits, and many
other little animals.
