GIFT OF STONE
Before the temple in this picture was built near Chicago, Illinois, a
man from Persia (now called Iran) arrived to mark the place where the
temple would rise. Some people say that as a small group of people
gathered around him for the ceremony, a woman appeared with a little,
red wagon that held a large stone. The man from Persia took her gift and
used it to mark the spot where the temple would be.
That temple is called the Baha’i House of Worship (say: bah HAH ee). It
was named for a man called Baha’u’llah, who was the founder of the
Baha’i religion.
If you visit the famous temple, you can see the gift of the stone
enshrined inside.
