CARNIVAL IN COPENHAGEN

In the daytime, the Tivoli in Copenhagen, Denmark, is a shady park where
yon can sail your toy boats during the summer on a peaceful lake. But,
at night, the Tivoli turns into a kind of carnival. Trapeze artists,
acrobats, and jugglers perform. Ballet dancers leap and spin on the
stage of an open-air theater. Boats drift slowly across the lake, which
is lighted with different colored lights. And, in the Children’s Corner,
you can take a ride on a tiny train.

On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, boys dress up as royal guards and
march to band music right down the middle of the Tivoli. Later in the
evening, the sky lights up with fireworks. But when morning comes, the
Tivoli is again just a shady park.
