BUILDINGS JUST FOR ART
Most buildings are built for people to live in, work in, or go to school
in. But in all parts of the world, there are buildings that were built
for displaying works of art, such as paintings and sculptures. These
buildings are called art museums.
You may think of a picture or a statue as a decoration for your home,
your school, or someone’s office. But sometimes pictures and statues are
not just decorations. Sometimes they are famous works of art that were
painted or sculpted by famous artists who lived long ago or who are
living today. You can see these famous works of art when you visit an
art museum.
