ALL KINDS OF TREASURES
Thump-t/rump, thump-thump, thump-thump.
You can hear the giant heartbeats as you walk through a giant model
heart. Inside the heart you can watch the main parts work, just the way
they do in your body.
The giant heart is only one of many treasures at the Museum of Science
and Industry in Chicago. Another treasure is the Colleen Moore Fairy
Castle. It’s furnished with tiny treasures from all over the world. You
can also ride a cage down into a model coal mine. You can watch chicks
hatching at the farm exhibit.
The transportation exhibits include model trains clicking along on their
tracks, old steam locomotives, and a collection of old-time automobiles.
And in another exhibit, you can walk through a captured submarine.
You can even inspect the cannons on part of a reproduction of the gun
deck of a famous U. S. Navy warship, the Constitution, better known as
“Old Ironsides.”
