Nine

The ancient Greeks thought of nine as a shape with nine sides and nine
corners. Such a shape is called a nonagon, which means “nine corners.”
They also thought of nine as nine dots arranged in the shape of a
square.

Nine was a very special number for the people of long ago. You see, they
discovered something very strange about it. In any number made up of
nines, the numerals add up to nine or are nine For example, two nines
are 18. And the two numerals, 1 and 8, add up to nine. Eleven nines are
99, and each numeral is a nine. And so on. Because of this, nine became
a symbol of truth and was said to be a “lucky” number.

All colors belong to the number nine. Some people also think that nine
belongs to the star group called Sagittarius, the Archer.
