Mammals
The Kitti’s hog-nosed bat is less than 1 inch (2.5 centimeters) long.
The blue whale is as long as 100 of the rulers. The bat and the whale
are both mammals. And so is a dog.

Birds

Reptiles
The West Indian gecko is 2 inches (5 centimeters) long. The reticulate
python is as long as 30 of the rulers. The gecko and the python are both
reptiles. So is a turtle.
The ostrich is the biggest bird. It’s taller than a tall person.

giant salamander is as long as five of the rulers.

an ant.

fingernail.
A giant spider crab is the biggest arthropod. Its body is as big as a
basketball.
A mite is the smallest arthropod. The smallest mites are so tiny you
can’t see them without a microscope.

railroad train boxcar.
