Materials

■ cardboard

■ crayons or magic markers

■ scissors

■ transparent tape

■ typing or notebook paper

1. Place your bare foot (or your hand) on a piece of cardboard and draw
   around it. Cut out the shape and color both sides.

2. Roll a sheet of paper into a tight tube to make a handle (see
   roll, page 37). Tape the tube closed.

3. Tape one end of the tube to the fan and you are ready to keep cool
   on a hot day.

Now try making a great big hand or foot fan. You may have to roll two or
three sheets of paper together to make a handle strong enough for the
big fan.
