June!

My shoes are off and my socks are showing…
My socks are off …
Do you know how I’m going? BAREFOOT!
as my eyes search the prairie I feel the summer in the spring
a Chippewa Indian song
The Sun Is Stuck
by Myra Cohn Livingston
The day is warm and a breeze is blowing, the sky is blue and its eye is
glowing, and everything’s new and green and growing …
The sun is stuck.
I mean, it won’t move.
I mean it’s hot, man, and we need a red-hot poker to pry it loose,
Give it a good shove and roll it across the sky
And make it go down
So we can be cool,
Man.
