What Plants Do for Us
What Plants Do for Us
Plants do a lot for us. We couldn’t live without them.
Plants give us vegetables, fruits, ceĀreals, and most other foods we eat.
Plants give us wood for building houses and making furniture.
Plants give us cotton, linen, and other kinds of cloth for clothes,
towels, sheets, and other things we use.
Plants give us paper, rubber, string, and medicines. They even give us
the fresh air we breathe!
And—just as important—plants give us pleasure. For, what sort of a
world would it be if there were no shady trees, green grass, or lovely
flowers?
