Stars and snowflakes
Materials
paper (large sheets)
scissors
- Square your paper (see square, page 38). Cut off the rectangle,
but leave the paper folded so that it is a triangle.
Fold the triangle in half, as shown by the dotted line in A.
Fold the triangle in half again, as shown in B.
Cut along a very slanted line, as shown in C. Open the paper and you
have a four-pointed star.
4 To make an eight-pointed star, repeat steps 1 and 2. Now fold the
triangle once again, as shown. Then cut along the slanted line. Be sure
to cut through all the folds. Open the paper and you have an
eight-pointed star.
5 To make a snowflake, first make a four-pointed or an eight-pointed
star. Keep the paper folded. Cut designs along each edge. Then unfold
the paper.
Stars and snowflakes make nice holiday decorations. You can tape or glue
them to other paper projects. Or, you can make a small hole in them and
hang them up with a piece of thread.
