Domestic Animals
Domestic animals are the animals you see on farms and ranches and in
people’s homes. Most domestic animals are useful to people in some way.
From some domestic animals we get food—meat, milk, eggs, butter, and
cheese.
We get leather and cloth from the skins and hair of some domestic
animals.
Some domestic animals do work for people, by carrying heavy loads and
pulling carts and wagons.
Some kinds of glue, soap, cooking shortening, and other things are made
from the bodies of domestic animals.
Some domestic animals help us have fun. We ride on them or watch them
race or do tricks.
And some domestic animals are pets that give us friendship and love.
